It’s summer, and you know what that means: watermelon, popsicles, and Amazon Prime Day. To fully enjoy all three, I recommend Tajín for the melon, Outshine bars for the heat, and the following list of early deals for your shopping cravings. This year, Amazon’s big event is officially set for Tuesday, July 8, through Friday, July 11 — but in true Prime Day fashion, the discounts have already started to roll in. So if you’re eager to beat the rush (and maybe avoid the panic-buying spiral at midnight on Day 2), now’s the perfect time to start scooping up the savings.
You’ve got a little over a week to dial in your wish list, clear out those “eh, maybe later” items from your cart (if you haven’t pulled the trigger by now, you probably don’t really want it) and brace yourself — and your bank account — for what’s basically the Super Bowl of online shopping. Whether you’re hunting for a shiny new gadget or just restocking your stash of paper towels, Prime Day — or let’s be honest, Prime Week — is still one of the best times to save big if you know where to look.
We’ve been covering this thing since before lightning deals and livestreams were even a thing. We’ve seen the jaw-droppers, the letdowns and those sneaky price hikes disguised as “deals.” Our job? Help you cut through the noise and avoid wasting your money. And hey, if patience isn’t your strong suit, no shame — some of the best tech deals are already live.
Here’s what to know heading into Prime Day 2025.

Before we start: Where are the AirPods? Long story short, while they’re currently on sale at Amazon for less than you’d pay at the Apple Store, both the AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro are off their previous all-time low prices. We expect them to dip back down as Prime Day proper approaches, but we’ve removed them from this deal slate in the meantime.
Baseus
Baseus Bass BC1 Open Ear Headphones
$29
$40
Save $11
Open-ear headphones are all the rage, but they’re usually not cheap: Prices typically start over $100 and rise from there. Behold the pleasant surprise that is the Baseus Bass BC1, a cuff-style open-ear headphone that I just started testing — but so far, so good. Comfy fit, decent sound, more bass than I expected and a price tag of just $29. Grab these before they jump back up to their already-pretty-amazing regular price of $40.

Roku
Roku Indoor Camera for Home Security, 2-Pack
$15
$65
Save $50
Want to know what’s going on inside your home when you’re not there? Deploy a couple security cameras, like this two-pack from Roku. Normally $65, it’s on sale for a jaw-dropping $15. If these look a little familiar, it’s because they’re a re-branded version of the popular Wyze indoor cameras. Which is a good thing: They work well and can integrate with your Roku TV (if you have one), streaming a live feed directly to the big screen. Just take note that some features require a Roku Smart Home subscription, which starts at $3.99 per month (for up to two cameras).
